En plein air Painting

An oil study near Newbury

This meadow view was painted from behind the van in the Furze bush carpark, a nice village pub that we had a meal at with family we met up with on the way to the ferry.

The following day we decided to chill out for a few hours in the shade at Petworth park. Had a chance to get the watercolours out.

Although not really visible in the photo, the sun hitting the ground was producing more than just greens!

A combination of cool and warm colours and some strong tonal contrast describe the heat of the day!
