Having driven up this hill many times and occasionally walked, I have often thought compositionally it would work well as a painting.
Obviously the container on the left was not ideal, but outdoor painting often throws these obstacles at you. The distant trees and and winding path interested me and this was what I wanted to capture.
Outdoor painting also presents solutions as well as obstacles, the painting needed a focal point and a gentleman walking by with his dog stopped to chat...this added some movement and life to the scene.
With the painting at home a chance to look at it with fresh eyes and see if I succeeded!
